The photo bank is the part of the portal we are building right now. We started with a simple question: what is already on a baker’s phone? The answer was almost always the same. Hundreds of photos of finished buns, cakes and bread – and hardly anything else.

The finished product is good. But a month of nothing but finished products becomes a shop window, not a bakery. So we split the bank into eight angles – eight different ways of seeing the same business.

The eight angles

  • The craft in motion. Hands doing something. Movement and a little blur are perfectly fine.
  • The finished product. The item finished, up close. The most used angle – and the one that wears out fastest.
  • The ingredients before. Flour, butter, fruit, dough resting.
  • The people. The team at work. Faces aren’t needed – hands and backs work just as well.
  • The premises. The room when no one is there, and the room full of people.
  • The time of day. A bakery’s day and night: the night shift, the morning, closing time.
  • Season. The year going by. Ingredients that change, decorations that are swapped.
  • The guest. Guests on the premises. Always with consent, never with the face in focus.

Why angles and not albums

An angle says something about what text a photo can carry. A photo of resting dough gives a different text from a photo of the same bun finished. With the photos sorted this way we can vary the month – craft one week, ingredients the next, the premises the week after – without the owner having to plan anything.

It also shows what’s missing. If the owner sees that “The ingredients before” has only three photos, she knows what she could capture the next time she’s at the dough. No order for specific shots – just a reminder that the angle exists.

Worn out and resting

Each angle shows how many photos it holds and when it last got a new one. Finished products wear out fastest, because they are used most. A photo that was used recently gets a rest before it comes back – so the feed doesn’t show the same cinnamon bun three weeks in a row.

Update 13 October 2026: The bakery demo is now open. It shows the photo bank for Café Solbacken with 58 photos – real photos, taken in our own bakeries. Open the bakery demo →
